James Noel Davis, 66, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at Hospice of Catawba Valley. James was born in Turnersburg on May 5, 1945 to the late Noel Lee and Stella E. Davis. He owned Boyd Lee Knitting Mills in Hickory for a number of years.  He also owned and operated The Stone Factory in Mooresville and after retirement he enjoyed visiting with his customers while working with Merchants Delivery Inc. of Hickory. Survivors include wife Teddi Jane B. Davis of Hudson; daughter Jamie Morrison and husband, Ronnie of Statesville; and three stepdaughters Tara Blake and husband, Aaron Hatton of Hudson; Emily Cook and husband, Scott Cook of Granite Falls; and Bethany Travis and husband, Jake Travis of Hudson. Also surviving are three sisters; Nanearle D. Hayes of Advance, Jean D. Wilson and husband, William of Statesville, and Carolyn D. Smith and husband Randal, of Harmony. Additional survivors are four grandchildren; Austin Morrison of Statesville, Smith Hatton of Hudson, Evan Cook of Granite Falls, and Ella Jane Travis of Hudson; his nieces and nephews, William L. Wilson, Elizabeth W. Norton, Ryan Smith and Ian Smith.  The family gives heartfelt thanks to all the Hospice staff that took such loving care of him. A special thanks is given to Doris Moss and Melody Keener for their tender loving care of our husband, father, grandfather, and friend. And to our James: “How blessed we have been because of you.†A celebration of James’ life will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Ken Swanson officiating.
