James Walter Pearson

James Walter Pearson, 76, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025.

James was born on November 2, 1948, to the late Herman and Nancy Pearson.

In addition to his parents, James “Punch” is preceded in death by his sisters, Bertha Coffey, Helen Coffey, Doris Pearson, Shirley Ann Pearson and brother, Bill Pearson.

Those left to cherish James’s memory are his wife of 35 years, Annette; sons, Darren and wife Amy, and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Chase “Junebug”, Avery “Doodle Bug”, Madison, Landon, Elizabeth “Lady Bug”, Amelia “Butterfly”, Josh “Taterbug”, great grandchildren, Athena and Emberligh; brothers, Tom and Delana Pearson, Robert Pearson, Sr.; sisters, Sue and Don Harrison, Judy and Scott Harrison, Carolyn Pearson; sister-in-law, Georgia Pearson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

James was a hardworking man; he worked at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for 33 years. He loved hunting and fishing. He loved going on trips with his son, Darren to NASCAR events and city tracks. James loved his fur babies, especially, Lou. James was a loving husband and father and loved by all. To know James was to love him.

A service to celebrate James’s life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Paul Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
