James Pinkney Phillips

Lenoir, NC- Mr. James Pinkney Phillips, age 80, of Lenoir, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 in Gateway Rehabilitation Center. Born March 5, 1928 in Caldwell County, Mr. Phillips was a son of the late Clinton T. and Sallie Elizabeth Jolley Phillips and the husband of the late Catherine Elizabeth Tuttle Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Singer Furniture. He is survived by his half-brother, Harley Jolley of Mars Hill, NC; his special friend, Polly Eller of Lenoir and several nephews. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Mike Isaacs officiating.
