James Bueford Shatley

Lenoir – Mr. James Bueford Shatley, age 71, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born January 19, 1947 in Caldwell County, Bueford was a son of the late William Andrew and Bessie Setzer Shatley.Bueford loved music especially playing guitar and was known to teach many of his family and friends how to play.He also enjoyed old cars and horseback riding.In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Shew; and three brothers, Bill Shatley, Paul Shatley and Jacob Shatley. Survivors include his children, Jeff Shatley, Joey Shatley, Stacey Harmon, Jessica Hall and Jenny Shatley; three sisters, Lola Everhardt, Shirley Gilbert and Nancy Deal; two brothers, Sam Shatley and Larry Shatley; he is also survived by 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Bueford’s life will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Nazareth Advent Christian Church with Pastor Gary Shew and Pastor Tommy Gurley officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
