Janice Black Gragg Wilcox

Janice Black Gragg Wilcox, 84, of Hudson, formerly of Millers Creek, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Born February 2, 1942 in Kingsport, TN, she was the daughter of the late Rev. N. R. Black and Julia Black Robinette. Mrs. Wilcox was a member of First Baptist Church Whitnel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1960. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 45 ½ years, H. Ray Gragg, a daughter, Janice LaRaye Gragg, sister Pat Battisto, and two brothers, Skipper Black and Tony Black. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Earl D. Wilcox of Hudson, sons Leslie Gragg (Cindy) of Purlear, NC, and Kelly Gragg (Mandi) of Salisbury, step-son Vic Wilcox (Linda) of Lenoir/Myrtle Beach, SC and step-daughter Van Payne (Brad) of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7th, at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church Whitnel prior to a memorial service which will be held at 12:00 pm with the Rev. Stuart White and the Rev. Sam Craven officiating.

Evans funeral Service & Crematory will be serving the Wilcox family.
