Jerry Benge

Mr. Jerry Wayne Benge, Sr., age 67, of Lenoir, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Born June 18, 1950 in Wilkes County, Jerry was a son of the late Ernest and Virginia Pope Benge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Scott Benge; and a daughter Tammy Benge. Survivors include his wife Clara Benge of the Home; his children, Joseph Hicks (girlfriend Wendy Benge) of Hudson, Jason Benge of Lenoir, Jessica Benge of Hickory, Amanda Haas of Granite Falls, and Jerry Benge, Jr. (girlfriend Carrie Watson) of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Ethan Hicks, Allison Hicks, Alyssa Hicks, Levi Hicks, Bridget Benge, Jordan Haas, Megan Haas, Tayler Berry, Makala Berry, Zachary Benge, and Xander Benge; a brother, Roger Benge (wife Darlene ) Granite Falls; a sister, Sue Greene (husband Mike) of Lenoir; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Pisgah Baptist Church at 4:00 PM with Pastor Ronnie Miller officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
