Hudson– Mr. Jerry Lee Robertson, Sr. age 73, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Duke University Hospital. He was born in Pinehurst, NC on August 19, 1942 to the late Woodrow Robertson and Ruth Thompson Robertson. He was married to Barbara Bass Robertson for more than 52 years. After retiring from Home Federal Savings and Loan in Fayetteville, NC, Mr. Robertson moved to Hudson in 2000. He became an active member of Hudson United Methodist Church and was involved in the Town of Hudson, being selected Hudson’s Man of the Year in 2005. Mr. Robertson was an avid photographer. He was the photographer for the Hudson Dinner Theater’s productions. He enjoyed photography of all sorts and a fter being asked how much he charged for taking a photograph of someone he replied “your smile paid for it.” He was a member of Lenoir Golf Club and also volunteered his time in the past to assist both South Caldwell and Hibriten High School’s Golf Teams. And if he didn’t have enough hobbies, he loved to follow NASCAR. Other than his wife, Barbara, Mr. Robertson is survived by his sons, Jerry Lee Robertson, Jr. and wife, Susan of New Bern; James Douglas Robertson and wife, Teresa of Lenoir; brother, Kenneth Robertson and wife, Brenda of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Katie Robertson, Grayson Robertson, Anna Robertson, Lauren Robertson and Andrew Robertson. A celebration of Mr. Robertson’s life will be held at Hudson United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October,7, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Holly Adams and Pastor Tim Brittain officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6:30 until 8:00 PM.
