Pete loved music! He played various types of instruments-guitars, his favorite, piano, autoharp, violin, and banjo. He encouraged and supported family members to learn to play any instrument of their choice. He was the happiest when the family gathered to sing and play. He had a love of gardening. He planted 3 to 4 large gardens and always shared the harvest with family and friends. Pete also loved his beekeeping hobby. For many years everyone enjoyed the delicious honey – the fruit of the bees and his labor.Pete and his neighbor and friend, the late J.C. Triplett in 1971, with support of a local civic club, founded the first Little League Baseball in the Patterson & Happy Valley Community. He and J.C. loved kids and baseball which provided many kids a place to play. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.He was very proud of each one and supported them in whatever adventures they were participating. He took them on adventures of his own – hiking, fishing, growing a large pumpkin patch and riding the children in a wagon to the patch and they each picked out their own pumpkin. He loved to help people, however, he never wanted recognition. He was a “secret angel” to many.He helped when and where there was a need. Pete loved his Lord, his church, and his family. He will be missed but the family is comforted knowing he is in Heaven singing and worshipping his Lord.
