Jimmie Rose

Lenoir – Jimmie Lester Rose, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was born in Burke County on March 31, 1943 to the late Theo and Lucille Rose. He was married to Mary Lackey Rose for more than 37 years. He was a member of Kings Creek Baptist Church and retired from Bernhardt Furniture Industries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna Chatham and Edith Howell. Other than his wife, he is survived by his children, Tony Johnson and wife, Linda; Betty Cole; brother, Edward Rose and wife, Joann; grandchildren, Mary Louise Johnson; Kim Whitener and husband, Shawn; John Strum and wife, Chanla; Candi Terry and husband, Steven; Adam Hatton and wife, Jessica; Travis Cole and wife, Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Griffin, Ben and Isaac Whitener; Jennifer, Jake, and Lana Strum; Autumn Shoemake; Lydia and Mary Grace Hatton; Corinth Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held at Kings Creek Baptist Church on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Randy Goode officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
