Joe Willie Patterson

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Joe Willie Patterson, Sr., age 90, of Lenoir, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 in the Veteran?s Administration Hospital in Asheville. Born May 7, 1919 in Iredell County, Mr. Patterson was a son of the late Will and Mattie Byers Patterson and the husband of Mrs. Rosalee Dula Patterson, of the home, to whom they had been married for 67 years. Mr. Patterson was a U.S. Navy veteran and a self-employed painter. Surviving other than his wife are three sons, Calvin Patterson and wife Ingrid; Joseph Patterson and wife Martina; Danny Patterson and wife Martha; 2 daughters, Virginia Dale Williams and Lorraine Horton and husband Steve; one sister, Mable Williams; one brother, Alvin Patterson; 13 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Patterson?s life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Dulatown Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Dulatown Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the church.
