Lenoir-John Eligh Bentley, age 81, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at Lenoir Healthcare.He was born June 20, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late Robert and Addie Smith Bentley.In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Belinda Carlisle; and a sister, Margie Church. Mr. Bentley enjoyed woodworking and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife Hester Lindsey Bentley of the home, two sons, Johnny Dale Bentley of Springfield, MO and Jerry Dwayne Bentley of Granite Falls; two brothers, Vance Bentley of Newton and Claude Bentley of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Reba Green; and two grandchildren, Ashley Carlisle and Shawn Carlisle. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service Chapel conducted by Rev. Todd Braswell.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
