Johnny Edward Spencer, 77, of Hudson, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on August 19, 2025, after a battle with cancer.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Aretta Spencer, as well as, his brothers Kenneth, Richard, David, and Willard.
Johnny was a strong, hardworking man that protected those he loved. He was big on his family and was always there for them. His face would light up anytime he could see his babies.
Johnny worked in auto refinishing industry for 50 plus years. His hobbies include working on classic cars and hot rods. He loved a good car show, and going to the junk yard with his son and grandson.
Johnny accepted Christ on August 20, 1979. The last 25 years Johnny has been faithful in church. He attended Rufus Baptist Church near the end of his journey. His favorite bible verse is John 3:16. He volunteered for 11 years in the food pantry at Mountain Grove Baptist Church and Union Grove Baptist Church.
Left to cherish the memories of one great man, husband, brother, dad, pop, and pawpaw are his wife of 59 years, Katherine “Kat”, son, Dennis (Denise) Spencer; grandchildren, Jessica (Timothy) Patton, Shane (Heather) Spencer. He was blessed with great grandchildren; Hadley and Thomas Patton, Josiah, Easton, Lane, and Amos Spencer; brothers, Clyde and Charles (Judy); lots of brother and sister in laws; and numerous nieces and nephews.
2 Corinthians 5:8 - “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
A service to celebrate Johnny’s life will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend A.E. Shell officiating.
