John David Stadther

February 19, 1963 — November 6, 2025

Mr. John David "JD” Stadther, 62, passed away peacefully at his home, on November 6, 2025, in Hickory, North Carolina. Born on February 19, 1963, in Morgan City, Louisiana, JD lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and creativity.

JD graduated from Hibriten High School in Lenoir, North Carolina in 1981. Following his education, he served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1987 to 1991. His service took him to Arkansas as well as overseas assignments in Japan and the Philippines. These years instilled in him a deep sense of discipline and global perspective that remained with him throughout his life.

After completing his military service, JD pursued a career in real estate. He became a respected figure in the local housing community through his work as manager of Argyle Apartments in Hickory. His dedication to his profession reflected his commitment to helping others find comfort and stability.

JD was a man of deep faith who found spiritual nourishment at Discovery Church in Hickory. He often sought solace and inspiration through nature walks with God—moments that also fueled his artistic spirit. He had a passion for creating art pieces and videos inspired by the natural world around him. These creative expressions were not only personal joys but also reflections of his reverence for life’s beauty.

Above all else, JD cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He deeply loved his three children—Zachary Paul Stadther, Joshua John Stadther, and Addison (Ethan) McGee—and found immense joy in spending time with his grandsons Hudson Paul Stadther and Wylder Jeffrey.

He is also remembered by his siblings: Leon (Teleena) Stadther Jr., Gordon (Sandy) Stadther, Kathleen (Tim) Poarch, Greg Stadther, Mary Ann (Phil) Bartle, and Pete (Nedra) Stadther. JD’s family ties were strong and enduring.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leon V. Stadther and Mary Ann “Susie” Stadther.

Celebration of Life pending.

JD will be remembered for his fun-loving nature and unwavering pursuit of God’s presence in everyday life. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire love, faith, and creativity in all who carry it forward.
