Jon Pope

Jon Russell Pope, a beloved member of the Lenoir, NC community, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30th, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on August 27th, 1937, in Florida, Jon spent his life dedicated to serving others, first through his military commitment, and later as a devoted pharmacist.

After a commendable tenure in the North Carolina National Guard, Jon pursued a career in pharmacy, where his knowledge and compassion had a profound impact on those he served. Known for his kindness and patience, Jon touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of care and commitment.

Jon was predeceased by his loving parents. He cherished the friendships and relationships he formed during his lifetime, valuing the moments spent with family and community.

In his later years, Jon was cared for by the exceptional staff at the Shaire Center, who showed him immense love and compassion, for which his family is deeply grateful.

In accordance with Jon's wishes, there will be no services held in his honor. He will be remembered quietly, with love and respect, as those whose lives he touched reflect on the memories and moments they shared with him.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jon's memory are encouraged to offer donations or acts of gratitude in recognition of the care and dedication shown to him by the Shaire Center's staff and caregivers.

Jon's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
