Joyce Lee Corpening

Joyce Gwendolyn Hanum Corpening, 91 peacefully passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, born to Paris and Irene Hanum, married the late V. W. Corpening to that union four sons were birthed. In addition to her parents Paris (Olive) and Irene (Earl) Siler preceding her death also included two sons Terry and Rev. Richard L. Corpening. Surviving family members include Kim (Jonice) of N. C., Gary (Loretta) of Tenn., daughter-n-law Lori of N. C., Rev. Gwendolyn C. Minor, VA, a very devoted companion Paul Corpening, and faithful caregiver Ernestine Lindon, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several other cousins of Tennessee. She was a very loyal and active member at St. Paul A. M. E. Church for over 69 years serving in several positions of leadership. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
