Katheryn Elaine Bowman

Lenoir, NC- Miss Katheryn ?Kathy? Elaine Bowman, age 52, of Lenoir, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 26, 2009 at her home. Born December 5, 1957 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of Molly Evelyn Bowman of Lenoir and the late Ira Cromer ?Big Boy? Bowman. She was a Christian of Baptist faith and served with love, the Salvation Army of Henderson, NC and Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. She touched the lives of many children for 14 years as a bus driver for the Caldwell County School System. A part of herself was given to everyone she served with love and loyalty for 15 years at Underdown Flowers as one of the most talented designers in the area. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children and six grandchildren whom she loved and devoted her life to: Daughter, Leslie Bowman of Lenoir; two sons, Daniel Bowman and wife Jennifer of Lenoir and Chris Bowman and fiancée, Jennifer of Lenoir; Grandchildren, Kaelin, Kolby, Jordan, Abby, Kasen and Baby Kate. She is also survived by three sisters, Debbie Miller of Tatum, NM; Darlene Bowman and Charlene Bowman, both of Granite Falls; two brothers, Scott Bowman and wife Leigh of Taylorsville and Roger Corrie and wife Sarah of Norfolk, VA. A celebration of Kathy?s life will be held 12:30 Friday, January 1, 2010 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Majors Jim and Sue McCurdy and Reverend Edd Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service, Friday, January 1, 2010 from 11 until 12:30, prior to the service. Pallbearers will be: Tracy Lail, David Barrett, Cecil Byrd, Cody Byrd, Stanley Lail and Wayne Lail.
