Kay Frances Davis Moore

Kay Frances Davis Moore, 87, passed away on December 7, 2025 in Lenoir, NC. Kay was born on April 15, 1938, to Laura Andrews Davis and Clyde William Davis.

Kay spent her life in Lenoir, where she was a lifelong member of First Advent Christian Church. Her faith guided her, and she built strong ties within her church community.

Kay worked at the former Dula Hospital and Blackwelder in Lenoir, and later at several medical offices and practices in the area. She was a devoted wife and mother who centered her life on caring for her family.

Kay had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor that often caught people off guard in the best way. She enjoyed making others laugh and brought lightness to even the most ordinary moments. She also loved flowers and took pride in tending to them. Her yard and home always reflected that care and attention, and she found real joy in seeing things grow.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, James Dale Moore; her mother, Laura Andrews Davis; her father, Clyde Willam Davis; her brother, Andrew Davis; and her sister, Mary Catherine Davis Miller.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Moore of Asheville; her son, Joey Moore of Lenoir; and her grandchildren, Taylor Moore (Sarah Beth) of Hookerton, Mason Moore of Boone, and Jessie Moore of Boone. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Ella Kate and Sally James Moore of Hookerton; her sister, Sue Davis Devinney of Pittsboro; her brother, Joe Davis (Shirley) of Lenoir; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Kay’s family will remember her steady presence, her humor, and the care she provided for them.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 10th, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir, NC. before honoring her life with graveside rites at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC with Dr. Taylor Moore and Pastor Daniel McGee officiating.

The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amorem Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.
