Kenneth DeWayne Howse

Kenneth DeWayne Howse was born on October 12, 1963, in Nashville, Tennessee. He passed away peacefully at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Kenneth proudly served in the United States Navy from 1982 to 1986. Following his military service, he built a career in security, serving as a Security Director for more than 25 years before retiring. Kenneth had a lifelong passion for comic books, beginning his collection as a young boy and continuing it throughout his adulthood. Over the years, he built an impressive collection that included many rare editions, which he treasured deeply. He also enjoyed collecting action figures, watching Blaxploitation films, and celebrating everything from the 1970s and 1980s. Outside of his collections, Kenneth loved spending time at the grill and took great pride in cooking for family and friends. He was known as a strict, no-nonsense father who believed in discipline, responsibility, and doing things the right way. Yet behind that tough exterior was a playful spirit. He loved pulling pranks, telling jokes, and making those around him laugh, leaving his family with countless memories to cherish. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Howse (1987); his father, William Howse (2022); and his grandparents, Margaret Phillips (2005) and Verner Phillips (2011). Left to cherish his memory are Kenneth’s three daughters, Keena, Kayla, and Kristina, and his five beloved grandchildren, Kyrie, Fallon, Alora, Messiah, and Kira. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave to his family.

 A service celebrating Kenneth's life will be held at Dulatown Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM with Reverend Kevyn Amos officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service.
