Lenoir, NC- Lois Louise Wilson Laws, 82, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2008. She was born on October 2, 1925 at home in Lenoir, NC, to Claude William Wilson and Grace Beulah Stillwell Wilson. Lois Laws grew up in Lenoir and attended Oak Hill High School. She was employed at Thrift Food Center and retired from Singer Furniture Company. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and later in life attended Sharon Walker Baptist Church. She was married to the late John Payton Laws for 66 years. Mrs. Laws had a thirst for knowledge, as well as travel which few people realized. She will deeply be missed by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Laws is preceded in death by her mother and father, her grandson, James E. Wagner Jr., her brother, Ray Lee Wilson and her sister, Iris Wilson. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Wagner and husband James of Patterson, NC; Minelle Evanco and husband John of Mandeville, La; two sisters, Faye Richards and husband Fred of Hudson, NC; Doris Frame and husband Grafton Lee of Moline, Il; three granddaughters, Kelly Lynn Bentley of Lake Charles, La; Martha Paige Wagner and companion Jennifer Etnier of Greensboro, NC; Katherine Louise Ricks and husband Sam of Covington, La; and five great-grandchildren, Clay and Luke Bentley, and Payton, James, and Maxwell Wagner. The funeral service will take place at 5:30 on Saturday, September 20, 2008 with Rev. Paul Romillas Laws officiating in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Internment will be held privately on Sunday, September 21 with Rev. Trudy Irving officiating.
