In the early morning hours of June 4th, our precious Lorraine met the Lord at the heavenly gates. What a reunion that would have been to witness. After losing her beloved husband in 2006, Lorraine longed for their eternal meeting.
Born in Caldwell County to the late Donald and Louise Baker on 11/20/1951, Lorraine dedicated her life to doing what she could to help others. She took great pride in raising her two daughters Jill Smith-Toler, and Victoria smith to follow in her example. Lorraine had a deep love of cats, and the cats always seemed to gravitate towards her. They brought her much joy and 3 of her favorites never left her bed sides as she transitioned to heaven. There will forever be an empty space in our hearts that Lorraine once held. But we rejoice in her new life and body in heaven.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters Jill smith-Toler of Illinois, Victoria Smith of the home, her granddaughter Jessica Brewer of South Carolina and grandson Aaron smith-of the home. Sisters Cindy Skrip of Florida and Nancy Baker. Numerous cousins and relatives in Lenoir and Ohio. And of course, her beloved cats.
A service to celebrate Lorraine’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. The family will receive friends an prior to the service from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
