Maggie Story Miller

January 30, 1926 — January 7, 2022

Lenoir – Maggie Story Miller, 95 years of age, was born to Adolphus Story and Mary Bradshaw Story on January 30, 1926, and passed away on January 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill V. Miller; son, Terry C. Miller; grandson, Clint Miller; brothers, Dillard Story, Ernest Story; Bill Story; Carroll (Charlie) Story and Van Story; sisters, Ollie Story; Lucille Simmons; Patricia Pilkenton; Juanita Sanders and Jo Ann Thomas. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Billie Eller (Wayne); Donna Miller Cline and son, Dennis Miller; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much. Maggie worked in the baby nursey at Yadkin Baptist Church for over 60 years and loved her church, working with generations of babies, and traveling with the Joy Club. She was an avid gardener, loved preserving what she grew, quilting, cooking, and sharing those things with her friends and family. Due to Covid, other viruses and flu being rampant at his time, a graveside for immediate family only will be held on January 12, 2022 at Yadkin Baptist Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mom’s nurses, Kathrine Cooke and Darcy Coffey and to the social worker, Katie Estrella. Their love and care for Mom was greatly appreciated. To her CNA, Judy Walker, who cared for her almost every day for the last six months so lovingly and compassionately, we are extremely grateful. We will never forget her and the love she shared with Mom. It would be Maggie’s joy that memorials, in lieu of flowers, be made to Yadkin Baptist Building Fund, 2044 Roby Martin Road, Lenoir, NC 28645,the church Handy Man Team, or AMOREM, 922 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645. A memorial service will be planned and announced when Covid and other health issues are less concerning.
