Margaret Sanders Carlton

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Margaret Sanders Carlton, of Lenoir, died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Shaire Center. Born in Caldwell County, Mrs. Carlton was a daughter of the late A.D. and Ella Josephine Arnold Sanders and the wife of the late Harold Carlton. She was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church and had worked in the furniture industry. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Mason Houston Spencer; five sisters, Geraldine Gentry, Ruth Holder, Joyce Hollar, Josephine Woods and Nell Winkle and one brother, Daniel Sanders. She is survived by her son, Larry Carlton and wife Brenda of Lenoir; one sister, Louise Marley of Lake Norman; one brother, A.D. Sanders, Jr. of Lenoir; one granddaughter, Tracy Spencer and husband John of Lenoir and two great-grandchildren, Scout and Tanner Spencer. A graveside service for Mrs. Carlton will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in the Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Mike Woods officiating. Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes in memory of Margaret Carlton and Mason Spencer, 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
