Lenoir-The family of Mrs. Marie Loretta Powell McKoy, age 91, of Lenoir announces with great sadness the lost of our loved one who passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at Lenoir Health Care Center.She was born in Wilkes County on September 20, 1927 to the late Avery and Bessie Horton.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgie Marie Little. Survivors include two daughters, Reitta Powell-Fields of Temple Hills, MD and Lydia Gibson (Robert) of Sumter, SC and one son, George Aaron Powell of Lenoir. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church for many years. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James Perkins.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
