April 1, 1946 — June 22, 2025

Marlene Hines Alexander of Lenoir, NC, passed away on the morning of Sunday, June 22, 2025, in her home. Born to Nancy (Putnam) and Melvin Hines, Ms. Alexander is preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother Johnny Hines, as well as her husband, Robert J. Alexander.

In life, Marlene was an active member of Central Baptist Church and volunteered for hospice for over 20 years. Her passion was music as she held the title of music director in many churches of Caldwell County. She was also an active member of the Caldwell Baptist Association and led many of their Vacation Bible School workshops, mission trip planning, and community missions including summer camps at Green Mountain Park.

Her beloved family included two children, her daughter Danette Alexander, as well as her son Shawn Alexander and his wife Mary Alexander; her many grandchildren, Brianna Roark, Austin Keener, Robert Abney, Gena Abney, and Joey Alexander; along with multiple great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Central Baptist Church in Lenoir, NC on July 13th, 2025, at 2pm in the afternoon. Ms. Alexander will be buried at Dry Ponds Baptist Church with her late husband, Robert Alexander.
