Marty Edward Hughes

Marty Edward Hughes, affectionately known to many as "Marty HaHa" for his infectious sense of humor, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on August 9, 1958, in Andrews, North Carolina, Marty was the beloved son of the late Jackie Edward Hughes and Nellie Stewart Hughes.

Marty grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values with him throughout his life. Known for his warm personality and love for adventure, he spent countless hours riding his Bicentennial Edition Harley Davidson, creating cherished memories along the open road.

He was a devoted father and grandfather, who took immense pride in his family. Marty's sons, Bradley (with wife Alycia) and Zackary (with wife Lydia), and his grandchildren, Anna Grace Hughes, Preston Davis Hughes, and Montgomery Dylan Hughes, were the light of his life. His legacy of laughter and love lives on through them.

Surviving Marty are his brothers, David Hughes and wife Karon, Ron Hughes and wife Pam, and Mitchell Hughes and wife Patty, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored him greatly.

A celebration of Marty's life will be held at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with burial to follow immediately at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM to pay their respects and share memories of a man who brought joy to many.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. Marty's spirit, kindness, and "HaHa" humor will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
