Mary Sue Gilbert Powell

Mary Sue Powell Granite Falls –Mary Gilbert Powell, age 75, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County on November 5, 1938 to the late Clinard Gilbert and Lecie Harris Gilbert. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her previous husband, Billy Wayne Powell;son, Eric Powell; siblings, Kathryn Gilbert, Agnas Gilbert Holsclaw, and Larry Gilbert. She is survived by her husband David Minton; children, Kenneth Powell and Kathy Powell Eller; step-children, Melissa Hartman Boling, Beverly Hartman Carroll, and Warren Hartman; grandchildren, Melissa Reid Kilby, Carrie Fairchild, and Sherry Fairchld; great-grandson, Gage Hoyle; siblings, Leroy Gilbert and Floyd Gilbert; three nephews and five nieces. A memorial service for Mrs. Powell will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM. The Family will be at the home of 4212 Temple Lane, Granite Falls, on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
