Mary Lou Gragg Poore

MaryLou Gragg Poore, age 90, of Caldwell County, passed away on July 17, 2025, at Lenoir Healthcare in Lenoir, NC. She was born on April 19, 1935, to the late Sanford and Edna Gragg. 

A Life of Craft and Love

MaryLou was a lifelong seamstress who found joy and purpose in her craft. She dedicated much of her life to creating beautiful garments, especially for her grandchildren. She loved the beach and the mountains and found great happiness tending to her flowers and caring for her family.

Surviving Family

She is survived by her brother Eddie Gragg and sister Ruth Smith, her children, Larry Gragg and wife Debbie of Granite Falls, NC, Rufus Richards and wife Carla of Alabama, Mary Richards and husband Alan Murphy of Kings Creek, NC, Danny White of Sawmills, NC, Benny White and wife Teodora of Lenoir, NC, and Linda Curtis of Granite Falls, NC. She also leaves behind grandchildren James, Daniel, Samantha, Natasha, Brittany, Christin, Matthew, and Dawn, along with numerous great grandchildren.

In Loving Memory

She was proceeded in death by her husband Dean Poore; her parents; Brothers Burl, Garland, Fred, Jay, Roy, Bill, Sam, Frank, and Luther; sister Cora; Sans Floyd Richards and James Andy Richards; and granddaughter Elesha White.

Private Remembrance

The family will hold a private gathering in her memory. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public memorial service.
