Mary Irene Smith Turner

Mary Turner Granite Falls- Mrs. Mary Smith Turner, age 85, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Shaire Center. She was born in Caldwell County on November 23, 1929 to the late Albert Corbin Smith and Ida Bolick Smith. Mrs. Turner was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and had retired from Bernhardt Furniture Industries after more than 35 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Turner; brothers, Clyde Smith and Jim Smith and her sister, Gladys Smith Greene. Mrs. Turner is survived by her step-daughter, Marsha Turner; brother, Stanley Smith; sister, Nellie Mullinax; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Turner’s life will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Sam Craven, Pastor Jeff Lambert and Tony Greer officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Greg Smith, Zac Smith, Josh Smith, Eric Smith and Todd Swanson.
