Megann Kern

Roanoke, VA- Megann Jean Kern, age 32, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Born December 19, 1984 in Marion County, Indiana, Megann was a daughter of Stephen and Barbara Bandy Kern of Lenoir. Megann was a CNA and also worked in the hospitality industry. She loved family gatherings at the beach, watching NASCAR and going to races. She enjoyed most being a mom. Her daughter, Sophia, was her life and what she was most proud of. In addition to her parents, survivors include her daughter, Sophia Kern; three brothers, Corey Hargis (fiancé Tabitha Davis) of Lenoir, Matt Kern (wife Jessica) of Charlotte, Cary Hargis (wife Debi) of Franklin, IN; her nieces and nephews, Drew and Carly Hargis, Landon Martin, and Ayden and Kolton Kern; a special friend, Ed Henderson and she is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Megann’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
