Melody Ann Tolbert, affectionately known to many as "Ann" and "Nanny," passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Amorem in Hudson, North Carolina. Born on January 25, 1948, in Caldwell County, NC, Ann devoted her life to nurturing those around her with unparalleled love and generosity.

Raised by her late parents, George Robbins and Ella Blankenship Robbins, Ann grew up with a profound sense of family and compassion. This heartfelt care extended to her beloved animals, which she cherished and regarded as her children. Ann had a particular talent for creating warmth and comfort through her baking, a dedication that continued even in her final days as she lovingly prepared a cake for her family.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, General Tolbert; her brother, Wayne Robbins; and her sister, Shirley Robbins Triplett. The legacy she leaves behind is rich with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Tolbert; her adored grandchildren, Ashley Smith and husband, Devonte, and Laura Tolbert and her fiancée, Timothy Haskett. Ann also leaves behind the joyful spirits of her great-grandchildren, Logan Butler II; Akira Butler; Ryleigh Carnevale; and Leela Williams, along with numerous other family members.

Throughout her career, Ann excelled as an Import/Export Specialist. Those she worked with could always depend on her extensive expertise and unwavering dedication.

Honoring Ann's request, her family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate her life and the countless ways she touched the hearts of those around her.

Ann will be remembered not only for the depth of her kindness and the warmth of her smile but also for the powerful legacy of love she leaves behind in her family. Her memory will forever be a guiding light in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
