Michael Landon Coffey

September 14, 1985 — June 27, 2025

Michael Landon Coffey, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering loyalty. Born on September 14, 1985, in Caldwell County, North Carolina, to Deanna Melton and Jerry Coffey, Michael entered the world with a gentle heart and a fierce determination to protect and care for those he loved.

After graduating high school, Michael joined the United States Army National Guard, where he served his country with honor and distinction, for over 20 years. As a natural leader, he earned the respect of those around him—not just through rank or title, but through his character. He led with integrity, compassion, and the unshakable belief that true strength lies in service to others.

But Michael’s proudest role by far was that of husband and father. For 16 years, he stood side by side with his wife and best friend, Brittani Bryant Coffey. Their bond was unbreakable, built on deep love, shared laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their greatest treasures: their two children, Paisley Grace and Mason Reed Coffey. Michael was a devoted and hands-on father—teaching, guiding, and loving with every ounce of his being. He was their safe place, their teacher, their hero.

Michael had a heart of gold and was a man of his word. To know him was to love him. He lived with sincerity and quiet confidence, always showing up for the people in his life. Whether it was helping a neighbor, mentoring a fellow soldier, or simply sitting with a friend, he gave of himself fully and without hesitation.

He found joy in the simple things—being outdoors, working with his hands, and teaching his children how to build, fix, and appreciate the world around them. And if you ever had the privilege of seeing Michael let loose and laugh, you knew you were in the presence of something special. His humor, quick wit, and ability to cut up and make others smile made him unforgettable.

Michael was a pillar of strength and humility—a mentor, a leader, and the kind of man whose impact is felt long after he's gone. He leaves behind his loving wife, Brittani; his cherished children, Paisley Grace and Mason Reed; and his mother, Deanna Gouge.

He is also mourned by countless extended family members, lifelong friends, and his fellow soldiers, each of whom carries a piece of his memory, and the imprint of his love.

Michael’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. Though his time here feels far too short, his impact is timeless.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Harrisburg Baptist Church with a service to follow at 2:30.

Military honors will be rendered in recognition of Michael’s faithful service to our country.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his pallbearers: Jerry Bradley, Jordy Hamby, Garrett Hubbard, Dan Luce, Blake Moody, and AJ Sanders. Serving as honorary pallbearer is his beloved son, Mason Coffey.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans (dav.org) or Purple Heart Foundation (purple heart foundation.org) or that you simply perform an act of kindness in Michael’s memory—just as he would have done.

Please continue to keep Brittani, Paisley, Mason, and all who loved Michael in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
