Reverend Mike Hatton Hickory – Reverend Harry Michael Hatton “Mike”, 66, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Shaire Center. He was born in Caldwell County on January 20, 1951 to the late Pete Hatton and Katie Suddreth Hatton. He was married to Jackie Hatton of the home for 47 years. After being called to preach at 16 years old, Mike served in various ministry positions including music, associate and senior pastors. Mike was a kind and generous person with a wonderful, contagious sense of humor. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and pastor. He was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and a devoted pastor to his congregation. He took time for each member from little children to senior adults. Mike was a singer, loved music, and he was an avid Tarheel and Braves fan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Hatton and David Hatton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Chris Hatton and wife, Yulia; daughters, Kim Hatton Beddingfield and husband, Cameron; Karlyn Hatton McCoy and husband, Sammy; five grandchildren; sister, Lauretta Bryant; brother, Larry Hatton; and numerous other extended family members. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Reverend Chris Hatton, Reverend Doug Ramage, Reverend Justin Holcomb and Reverend Dale Faulkenbury. Burial will be private.
