Miranda Barnes Jenkins

Miranda Barnes Jenkins Lenoir – Miranda Barnes Jenkins, 40, of Lenoir passed away on May 28, 2018 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Miranda was born on December 24, 1977 in Burke County to Kathy Adams Barnes and the late Jimmy Barnes. Prior to becoming ill, Miranda was a well-respected insurance agent; even being recognized as becoming the youngest licensed agent in North Carolina at her licensure. Miranda, also, was an avid couponer, often couponing products to donate to local homeless shelters. Miranda always recognized how fortunate she was and always wanted to give back to the community by helping those she felt were less fortunate. In addition to her father, Miranda is preceded in death by grandparents Ruth Adams and Henry and Addie Barnes. She is preceded by numerous uncles and aunts; including a special aunt, Evelyn Oakes. Miranda is survived by her mother, Kathy and special companion, Ken Bibeau; as well as her sister, Amber Settlemyre and husband Josh. She is, also, survived by her beloved nephew, Mason Settlemyre. Miranda leaves behind her finacee, Juan Mendez; who never left her side. Miranda leaves her special companions, her two Papillons, Chloe and Chanel. There are numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins that will miss Miranda, as well. There will be a celebration of Miranda’s life on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Evans Funeral Chapel at 6:00 pm with Pastor Jobie Borders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.
