Naomi Ellen Laws

North Wilkesboro, NC- Mrs. Naomi Ellen Laws, age 87, of North Wilkesboro went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Born August 24, 1925 in Wilkes County, Naomi was a daughter of the late Arthur and Minnie Melinda Adams Ballard. She was a member of the Fishing Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and shopping. She worked for a number of years with the Holly Farms Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Garfield Ballard and Fred Ballard; one sister, Mabel Stout; and two grandchildren, Jason Laws and Ronnie Alan Laws. Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Roberts, husband Elbert, of Traphill, NC, Ethel L. Brown, husband Todd, of Ronda, NC and Vanessa Laws, husband Ronnie, of Lenoir, NC; two sons, Don E. Laws and Nathan Ronald Laws, wife Kim, both of North Wilkesboro; one sister, Charlotte Williams of North Wilkesboro; one brother, Woodrow “ Chuck” Ballard of St. Augustine, FL; she is also survived by eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and other relatives. A celebration of Naomi’s life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Todd Brown officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorials can be sent to the Mountain Valley Hospice at 688 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621.
