Naomi Hartley Lewis

Naomi Hartley Lewis, a cherished resident of Lenoir, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on December 16, 1946, in North Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alma and Charlie Hartley. Naomi was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose faith and spirited personality left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Throughout her life, Naomi was deeply dedicated to her family and found joy in playing the piano and singing, bringing warmth and laughter to all those around her. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering and a source of inspiration to her loved ones.

Naomi is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James Lewis, and her daughters Beverly Kelley (husband Lew), Jennifer Ledford (husband Kevin), and Joy Curtis (husband Rob). Her legacy continues with her 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 5 sisters: Norma Whitt, Gerri McBride (husband Danny), Arita Townsel (husband Tony), Bessie Waters (husband Max), and Edith Hartley; one brother, David Hartley (wife Donna); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her dear daughter Sherry Lynn, and sister Yvonne Pruette, alongside many other cherished loved ones who have gone before her.

A service celebrating Naomi's life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Lighthouse of Lenoir, 222 Elizabeth St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645, with Pastor Adam Knight officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit an hour prior to the service, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, to pay their respects and share memories.
