Noel Easter Philyaw

Noel Easter Philyaw, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on March 24, 1940, in North Carolina, Noel was the cherished son of the late James and Toye Philyaw. His life was a testament to faith, family, and dedication.

Noel spent his professional life as a furniture supervisor, a role in which he took great pride and skillfully managed for many years. Known for his exceptional work ethic and a keen eye for detail, Noel’s contributions to the furniture industry were widely respected.

A man of deep devotion and faith, Noel's greatest joys were found in the company of his family and in his unwavering love for Jesus Christ. He was a talented guitarist, often filling his home with melodies that spoke of his love for music and life. Noel’s family and friends will fondly remember his storytelling and the laughter that filled every gathering.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents, are his beloved son Todd Philyaw, brothers Ruel, Oral, and Doel Philyaw, and baby sister Dare Philyaw. Though their absence is felt deeply, Noel's legacy continues in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Linda W. Philyaw, who stood by his side through every chapter of life; his son Gregory Philyaw and wife Denise; grandsons Matthew Philyaw and wife Alisa, and Thomas Philyaw; granddaughter Lauren Philyaw; and great-grandchildren Mason and Dakota, who brought immeasurable joy to his later years. In addition, Noel is remembered by numerous other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Noel Easter Philyaw was a pillar of strength and kindness whose memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to a wonderful man, we take solace in the love and lessons he imparted, which will continue to guide us as we navigate the days ahead.
