Norma Jane Nelson

Norma Nelson Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Norma Jane Nelson, age 75, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Grace Hospital. She was born in Caldwell County on June 9, 1938 to the late Lloyd Parker and Stella Goforth Parker. Mrs. Nelson was a loving, caring mother that loved her Lord and enjoyed meeting people. It was often said that she never met a stranger. She was of Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Nelson, Jr.; sister, Doris Abernathy; and brother, Ralph Parker. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her children Larry Nelson and wife, Cindy; Mark Nelson and wife, Tammy; Vincent Nelson and wife, Tammy; Gina Benfield and husband, Chris; brother, Dean Parker; sister, Janice Prestwood; grandchildren, Alicia Barnes and husband, Brad; Jordan Nelson; Lindsey Nelson; Cameron Nelson; and Devan McNeil. A celebration of Mrs. Nelson̢۪s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Lonnie Bell officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brad Barnes, Curt Lowman, Devan McNeil, Roger Abernathy, Gary Abernathy and Jordan Nelson. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 5:00 until 6:30 PM.
