Pat Dobbins

Patricia "Pat" Dobbins passed away peacefully on September 24th at Beacon Place in Greensboro after periods of long illnesses. Pat fought many cancer battles for over 20 years. She always accepted with great faith that she would conquer her illnesses.She found great comfort and beauty in nature and the love of family and friends throughout her life. She would want her life to be remembered as a blessing to all who loved her. Pat was born in Union County then moved to Durham where she graduated from Northern High School. During school and after graduation she worked in the dental sector in Durham and Greensboro. Pat and her husband Douglas "Doug" Dobbins lived in Greensboro all their 49+ years of marriage.Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sister Roberta Aycock Clayton, son Kyle Douglas Dobbins. She is survived by her husband Doug; a son Michael Brett Smith and wife Kristin; three grandchildren, JP, Olivia, and Bennett Smith; a sister Audrey Aycock Husketh and husband Jerry, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday September 29th at Nelson's Chapel Baptist Church, 4958 Kirby Mountain Road, Lenoir, NC starting at 2:00 pm.
