Peggy Nell Small SamsMrs. Peggy Nell Small Sams, age 67, of Granite Falls, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born August 15, 1949 in Caldwell County, Peggy was a daughter of the late Carrol and Jewel Pierson Small. Peggy was full of life, giving, was always happy and will be remembered for how much she loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Butch Small and Gerald Small. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Sams of the Home; two children, Greg Winkler (wife Jessica) of Lenoir and Angela Winkler of Hudson; three sisters, Dot Laws, Linda Price and Gail Murphy; two brothers, Dennis Small and Doug Small; her grandchildren, Savannah Smith, Chasity Gragg, Victoria Compton, Isziah Sloan, Jyhiem Winkler, Amyeal Winkler, Rya Wright, Jozlyne Winkler, Gracie Winkler and Malachi Winkler; her great grandchildren, Gavin Smith, Taylor Gragg and Grayson Gragg; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Peggy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Bible Baptist Church.
