Penny Davis Moore

Penny Davis Moore, age 64, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 16, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Caldwell County on December 8, 1960 to the late Henry and Hassie Davis. She was a terrific wife to Dale Moore of the home for 46 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pam Davis Goins.

Penny was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone that had the opportunity to get to know her. She will be remembered for her laughter, quick wit and contagious smile. She never had a worry and put everyone else’s needs before her own. Penny worked at Sherrill Furniture for 40 years, with her last day being May 12, 2025.

Other than her husband, Penny is survived by her son, Josh Moore and wife, Christine; daughter, Jessie Vestal and husband, Justin; grandson, Jackson Vestal and granddaughter, Jiliyan Vestal; and her forever friends, Leon and Susie Greer; Lonna Wilson; Anne Compton; her many friends, neighbors and her Sherrill Furniture family.

A memorial service celebrating Penny’s life will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Sam Craven officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
