Phillip Ray Hefner

Phillip Ray Hefner, age 64, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30th, 2026, at Atrium Health Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Phillip was born in Caldwell County on January 8th, 1962, to the late Martha and Allen Hefner.

Phillip was a devoted pastor for over 15 years, his final 4 at Grace Chapel Global Methodist Church in Granite Falls, NC. Prior to his work in ministry, Phillip proudly served his country in the Air Force and alongside Air Force One. Phillip retired as a Major.

He was a proud father, grandfather, and friend. Phillip had a soft spot for any animal, but mostly for the lost and neglected. He worked tirelessly to make sure every animal felt loved and safe.

Phillip was welcomed home by his father and mother, Allen and Martha, along with his brother Mark. He leaves behind a daughter, Victoria, son-in-law, Aaron, and grandchildren, Kate and Rhett.

A memorial service for Phillip’s life will be held at Grace Chapel Global Methodist Church on April 12th at 3:00pm.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation to Foothills Canine Rescue be donated in Phillip’s name.
