Randy German, 73, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, at UNC Chapel Hill. Born on June 1, 1952, in North Carolina, Randy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Randy was born to the late Billy Gene and Nancy Barlowe German. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kylee Michele German.
Left to cherish Randy's memory are his devoted wife, Lana German; sons, Garron German and his wife Sarah, and Derrick German and his fiancé Stacey. He is also survived by his treasured grandchildren Donnie, Lucas, Kade, Lauren, and Morgan; siblings Chad, Melinda, and Jerry, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who held a special place in his heart.
Randy's early education was completed at Hudson High School, followed by a business degree from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. He had a successful career as a CEO and was a respected wholesale lumber broker for many years. His passion for community service shone through his involvement with the Lions Club of Cajah’s Mountain, where he dedicated his time to assisting community members.
A pillar of his family, Randy was a wonderful father and had a deep, abiding love for his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
A service to honor Randy’s life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Tabernacle Advent Christian Church, located at 152 Wildwood Road NE, Lenoir, NC 28645, at 4:00 PM. Pastors Daniel McGee, Jim Lee, and Josh Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Randy's memory to Research to Prevent Blindness, an organization dear to his heart, at https://www.rpbusa.org/.
Randy's legacy of love and kindness will remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
