Richard Bartley

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Richard David Bartley, age 67 of Lenoir on Saturday May 9, 2026. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 29, 1959 in Winchester Indiana, one of twin sons born to Elmer and Gladys Lee Bartley. He was a member of Dudley Shoals Baptist Church as well as a HAM radio operator with the Lenoir Amateur Radio Club and an Army National Guard veteran. He was known to enjoy working puzzles as well as playing board games with his family. Those close to him will remember not only his sharp wit and sense of humor but also his love for his family and the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Bartley (brother), and Robert Bartley, Jr. (nephew) along with numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by Selina Bartley Mclain (daughter), Jason Mclain (son-in-law), Mckenzie Mclain (granddaughter), Alyson Zielinski (granddaughter), JT Mclain (grandson), Robert Bartley (twin brother), Donna Edwards Bartley (Ex-wife), Benjamin Stokley (stepson), Robin Stokley (daughter-in-law), Dakota Stokley (grandson), all of NC, Summer Conrad (granddaughter) of TN, Norman Bartley (brother), Penny Bartley (sister-in-law), Nancy Pierson (sister), Terry Pierson (brother-in-law), Michael Bartley (nephew), Jeremy Bartley (nephew), Shannon Pierson (niece), Terry Lee Pierson (nephew), David Bartley (nephew), Samantha Bartley (niece), all of Indiana as well as an extended family.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Arrangements for a celebration of life ceremony will be forthcoming but are incomplete at this time.
