Richard Davidson Boesch

October 15, 1938 — February 24, 2026

Born in Jamaica Hospital in New York Matthew and Margaret Virginia Boesch (nee Brown), October 15, 1938. He was a beloved brother to Jeanne-Lee Morlon (nee Boesch) and her husband Norbert Moron of Lenoir, NC. Richard graduated from Sewanhaka High School in 1957 and proceeded to enlist in the Marine Corps July, 1957. He served in the Second Battalion, Platoon 203 until his honorable discharge. He liked to talk about one of his notorious friends from high school, Frankie Terpil, who was an ex-CIA officer and was wanted by the Marshals Service for illegal arms trafficking. His friend had a colorful life, and died an expat in Cuba. It was a great topic of conversation.

Richard loved photography and used a B & W medium to document much of New York City in the 1960s and 1970s, producing a beautiful anthology of NYC during that time. Then, in 1971, the San Fernando earthquake prompted Richard to go west and photograph the devastation and decided to make his stay more than 40 years before moving to Florida, and later NC to be with his sister and brother-in-law here in Lenoir.

This beloved, gentle, and kind man will be sorely missed. We love you Richard Davidson Boesch.
