Roberta Kay Dodge

Bobby, Roberta Kay Eckert Dodge, passed away at home after a long illness. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Robert Casper Eckert and Florence Cobb Eckert. She was married to the late John H. Dodge and together they had eight children. John passed away in 1974 in an accident and Bobby married Charles H. Rose.

Bobby was an avid gardener. Her love of baking was enjoyed in abundance by neighbors, friends and family. She was always helping others and seemed to be the person everyone went to for help and guidance.

She was a loving mother, but it was her 110 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren that lit up her life.

In addition to her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Pearl Coles and her son, Robert Jay Dodge.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pamela M. Craig and Doug Moore; Johnnie K. Barnhart and husband, Monte; Hope F. Segar and Rick Chilcote; Terry L. Wright and Dawn Cline; sons, John H. Dodge and Suzanne Reeves; and Chet A. Dodge and wife, Carmen.

The family will have a memorial service celebrating Bobby’s life at West End Hesperia Cemetery, 8631 Loop Road, Hesperia, MI later this summer.
