Ronald Steven Duncan

Lenoir, NC- Ronald Steven “Steve” Duncan, age 58, of Hudson, fell asleep in the Lord on December 31, 2010. He awaits the trumpet sound and the coming of Christ on that glad reunion day. Born March 11, 1952, Steve was a son of Irene Raby Duncan and the late RV Alvin Duncan. Steve was a member of the Boone Advent Christian Church. He had a love of singing and had been a member of several quartet gospel groups. He enjoyed music, woodworking, building and refinishing furniture, and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Regina Crowe Duncan of the Home; a daughter and son-in-law, Angie Duncan and Mike Meeks of Lenoir; two sons and a daughter- in-law, Jonathan and Jennifer Duncan of Cajah’s Mountain, and Lucas Duncan of the Home; his mother, Irene Raby Duncan of Baton; his grandchildren, Duncan Meeks and Grace Meeks of Lenoir, Ava Duncan and soon coming, Elsie Duncan of Cajah’s Mountain; two brothers and sisters- in- law, Gene and Sandy Duncan of Baton, and Ira and Joan Duncan of Baton; a sister and brother- in- law, Barbara and David Brakefield of Lenoir; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and loving friends. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 2, 2010 in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Gordon Noble, Pastor Paul M. Dean, Pastor Ed Neal, and Pastor Bob Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 2, 2010 at the Boone Advent Christian Church. Another receiving will be held from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir.
