Rosalie Roots Suddreth

Rosalie Roots Suddreth was born March 23, 1939, in Aurora, Illinois. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 26, 2026 at the age of 87. She was the daughter of LJ “Bomps” Roots and Violet “Bomma” Roots. After her marriage, she moved to Lenoir, NC, to raise her 4 children. In 1976, she moved to Idaho and enrolled in Lewis and Clark State College where she proceeded to obtain her bachelor’s degree in nursing. As a proud graduate, Rosalie served as an oncology nurse at St Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho for many years. She eventually moved back to Lenoir and continued her career in healthcare.

Rosalie enjoyed camping, outdoor activities and all that the west had to offer. After she moved back to North Carolina, she enjoyed having large family gatherings with her sister, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews, children, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She collected tea pots and going antiquing.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Roots Rogers (Ronnie Rogers), of Lenoir. Son, David Ragsdale (Deborah Ragsdale), of Hendersonville, NC. A daughter, Lisa Ragsdale Wydra (Eric Wydra) of Prattville, AL. As well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Suddreth, two daughters, Barbara Ann Craig, and Patricia Diane Davis and grandson, Michael Stofko.

A Memorial Service will be held at Evans Funeral Service Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 2:00PM with the North Carolina Nurse Honor Guard rendering honors at the conclusion of the service.
