Roy Edward Anders II

Roy Edward Anders II passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Edward Anders; his mother, Susan Brummitt Anders; his brother, William Ross Anders; and his brother-in-law, Lloyd Eric Cornett.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Sandra Griffies Anders; his children, Tosha Quinn (Danny), Matthew Griffies (favorite in-law, Amber), and Ana Knight (Coy); his grandchildren, Timmy Hinnant, Erica Hinnant, Shelby Quinn, Carissa Quinn, Aiden Quinn, Jason Griffies (Abby), Aubree Griffies, Bentley Knight, and Halligan Knight; and his great-grandson, Oliver. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Edward was hilarious and had a way of making people laugh everywhere he went. He would do anything he could for you. He loved to fish, especially off the pier. He was the proudest Popeye, Pawpaw, and Pepaw and enjoyed every opportunity he had to spend time with his grandchildren. He was a skilled hunter who knew how to track a deer, and he was also a talented carpenter.

Edward was the supervisor of the molder department at Woodgrain Millwork in Lenoir, NC. He worked there for more than 12 years and was greatly appreciated by his coworkers and work-wives, Wanda and Pat. He will also be forever remembered for his amazing and beloved mustache.

Edward’s life was far too short, and he will be greatly missed every day.

A celebration of life honoring Edward will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Hope in Christ Church, 6062 Petra Mill Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630. A receiving of friends will be held from 2:00–3:00 PM, with a service to follow immediately afterward in the chapel. Pastor Randy Bowlin will be officiating.
