Ruth Muncy

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Ruth Elaine Carlson Muncy, age 78, of Lenoir passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson after a lengthy illness. Born November 14, 1938 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Ruth was a daughter of the late Oscar Gerhard and Helen Perkins Carlson. She enjoyed all sports, especially the New England Patriots and Candle Pin Bowling. Ruth will also be remembered as a Wonderful Wife and Mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Asbury Putignano; and a brother, John W. Carlson. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, David Edward Muncy; two sons, Stephen Muncy (wife Donna) of Lenoir and Christopher Muncy (wife Nancy) of Cranston, Rhode Island; a sister, Jeanne Mullen of Braintree, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren, Alexandra Hammonds, Samantha Muncy, Matthew Muncy, Nicole Muncy, David J. Muncy, Rachel Sylvester, Daniel Muncy and Morgan Asbury; four great grandchildren, Genesis Price, Raegen Price, Madelyn Sylvester and Cole Sylvester; she is also survived by numerous other relatives.
