Ruthetta Shook Williams

Sunday, September 21, 2025, Ruthetta Shook Williams passed away at the age of 68. Ruthetta was a woman of strong faith and a lifelong member of White Rock Baptist Church.

She loved her family and proudly spoke of her upbringing in Pigeon Roost, NC. She graduated from Watauga High School in the Class of 75’. She was a proud “pioneer”.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Williams; father, William Bradley Shook; mother, Mable Dean Shook; oldest son, Christopher Williams; in-laws, Boyd Wiliams and Ella Mae Williams; sister-in-law; Kathy Shook and brother in-law, Kenny Church.

Ruthetta is survived by two sons, Larry Dwaine Williams and wife, Tina Williams, Daniel Ellis Williams and wife, Heather Nicole Williams; brothers, Lynn Shook and wife, Barabara Shook, Glenn Shook, Phil Shook and wife, Elaine Shook; two sisters, Verna Church, Felicia Rupard and husband, Robert Rupard, three grandchildren, Daniel Bryson Williams, Garrett Allen Williams and Aiden Williams.

A receiving will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at White Rock Baptist Church, 2030 Pigeon Roost Road, Banner Elk, NC 28604, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside service.
